Message Actions
Hovering over any message reveals a set of action buttons. These let you do more with individual messages beyond just reading them.
Copy text
Click the copy icon to copy the full text of a message to your clipboard. This works on both your messages and AI responses.
Retry a message
The retry button regenerates the AI’s response to your message. Use this if the response wasn’t quite what you were looking for, or if you just want to see an alternative answer. The previous response is replaced with the new one.
On your own messages, retry re-sends the message with the same content.
Hide from context
The hide button removes a message from the AI’s context without deleting it from the conversation history. The message remains visible to you, but the AI won’t see it when composing its next response.
This is useful when a response took a wrong turn and you don’t want the AI to carry that mistake forward, or when you want to reduce the amount of context the AI is working with.
Hidden messages are shown with a visual indicator so you know they’re excluded. You can unhide a message the same way.
Create a prompt from a message
The save as prompt button (wand or bookmark icon) lets you turn a message into a reusable prompt in your library. This is handy when you’ve written a particularly effective instruction or question and want to use it again in future conversations.
Clicking it opens a dialog where you can name the prompt and optionally edit it before saving. The saved prompt will appear in your Prompts library.
Start a thread
The thread button (reply arrow icon) creates a new thread branching from that message. The thread inherits the full conversation context up to that point, then runs independently.
If a thread already exists for that message, clicking the button opens the existing thread instead.
See Threads for full details on how threads work.
