Sharing Conversations

You can share any conversation with others by generating a link. Shared conversations are read-only: visitors can read the messages but cannot send new ones or change any settings.

Access types

When you create a share link, you choose who can open it:

Public means anyone with the link can view the conversation, even without a Magus account. Use this when you want to share a conversation with someone who is not a Magus user, or when you want to post a link publicly.

Authenticated means the viewer must be logged in to a Magus account before they can see the conversation. Use this when you only want to share with people who already have accounts.

Creating a share link

  1. Open the conversation you want to share.
  2. Click the share icon in the conversation header (a box with an arrow pointing out).
  3. Choose the access type: Public or Authenticated.
  4. Optionally add a label to help you identify the link later (for example, “sent to design team”).
  5. Click Create link.

The link is generated immediately and copied to your clipboard.

Copying a link later

If you need the link again after creating it:

  1. Open the share menu for the conversation.
  2. Find the link in the list of active share links.
  3. Click the copy icon next to the link.

Revoking access

To stop sharing a conversation, revoke the link:

  1. Open the share menu for the conversation.
  2. Find the link you want to remove.
  3. Click the trash or revoke icon next to it.

Once revoked, anyone who tries to open the old link will see an access error. Revoking one link does not affect other links you have created for the same conversation.

Notes

  • A conversation can have multiple active share links, each with its own access type and label.
  • Share links do not expire automatically. Revoke them manually when you no longer want them to be active.
  • The shared view shows all messages up to the moment it was last viewed. It is not live: visitors do not see new messages appear in real time.
